Defining and agreeing the precise specifications with our customers and then producing assemblies exactly to those requirements is at the heart of our attitude towards Quality Matters.

At Gwent Cables our ISO9002 certified quality control system, is organised in a clear and concise manner. We have been able to ensure that the system is understood by all employee's and that it is fully implemented throughout the business. In many cases results are collected into databases which helps us analyse trends and highlight possible solutions. For example internal rejects can be analysed by customer, assembly type, operator, date and value. The system is under regular review and 'continuous improvement' is a set item on the agenda at management review meetings.

Our contract review is a robust procedure which ensures the input of all the relevant people including sales, production, technical, and of course the customers. In this way we can highlight and solve potential problems and ensure that the exact requirements are understood by both us and our customers.

Order Processing and scheduling are managed efficiently by computer, giving us the ability to very quickly track the progress of your order and agree any amendments you may request.

Technical drawings, work instructions and test procedures are generated for each individual assembly. All assemblies are 100% tested for electrical continuity and in many cases additional tests are carried out as requested by our customers or as recommended by our Technical / Quality manager. These additional tests include checks for resistance, earth leakage or capacitance values.

We continually monitor our performance in areas such as on-time deliveries, customer returns and internal rejects. Targets are set for these and many other areas with review and monitoring taking place at the regular management review meeting. We also openly share this information with many of our customers as we believe that working in partnership in this way is the most effective method to achieve higher quality increased efficiency and lower costs.
